I
declared my candidacy for Cumberland
City Council because I want to make a
difference. I remain committed to that
goal as your Councilman.
I care
deeply for this City, having been born
and raised in Cumberland. I choose to
make Cumberland my home. I recognize
all that Cumberland has to offer. But,
I also recognize all of the challenges
facing our great city.
I believe
we must turn our attention back on the
community that we know and love,
strengthen it from within, rebuild our
infrastructure, reinvest in our small
businesses, lift up our seniors, learn
from the past, and move on into the
future. We must refocus our energy on
what we have and allow Cumberland’s
spirit and charm to promote our
community. We cannot add any additional
burden to City residents – we cannot
overwhelm the citizens with higher and
higher taxes – we must curb spending
where possible to meet the vital needs
of our City. We must work to ensure
that our public safety services have the
resources necessary to protect us.
As
Councilman, I plan to work closely with
residents to pay closer attention to
what is taking place in every Cumberland
neighborhood. I will work to preserve
the character of Cumberland through
Smart Growth and redevelopment of
existing infrastructure. I aim to make
doing business in the City easier and
make government more responsive to
citizens’ needs.
I am
dedicated to making a difference and
committed to working with and for the
residents of Cumberland.
We’re all
in this together, and together we
will make a difference! |
